Curb Waves ("we", "us") shows rideshare drivers when groups of planes land at airports. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you create an account. We use it to send you a sign-in code.
- Which app you drive for (Uber, Lyft, both or other), only if you choose to tell us.
- A random ID that your phone makes the first time you open the app. It is not your name and does not identify you outside our app.
- How you use the app: when you open it, what kind of phone you use, whether you opened it from your Home Screen, and the times and results of the airport check-ins you choose to make (for example, "got a ride after 12 minutes" or "left without one").
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in on your phone.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, your phone number or your payment details.
- We do not store your location. If you turn on "Tell me when I'm at the airport", your phone compares its own location with the airport on the phone itself. Your location is not sent to us.
Why we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account safe.
- To make the app better, for example by learning how long drivers wait for rides at different times, so our estimates improve. This is combined data and is not about you personally.
- To count how many people use the app and to prevent abuse.
Who sees it
We do not sell your information. A few companies help us run the app and handle your data for us: Cloudflare (hosting and our database) and our email service (to send your sign-in code). We may share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account until you delete it. In the app, tap Account, then Delete my account. This removes your email and sign-in records. Check-in and usage records that were already saved stay in our data without any link to you.
Your choices
- You can sign out at any time, on one phone or on all your devices.
- You can delete your account at any time.
- If you live in California, you can ask what we have about you, ask us to delete it, and you can be sure we do not sell it. Write to us at the address below.
Age
Curb Waves is for adults who drive for rideshare companies. It is not meant for children under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app.
